Planning a family trip to Leavenworth Adventure Park and wondering if it’s a good fit for kids? You’re in for a treat. With kid-approved activities, hands-on fun, and the Tumwater Twister Alpine Coaster™, the park is full of energy, laughter, and memory-making moments.

Let’s talk about the ride that gets everyone buzzing — the Tumwater Twister. This family-friendly adventure lets kids and grown-ups ride together or solo (depending on height), with each sled controlled by the rider for a custom speed experience. Whether your child wants a gentle cruise or a twisty thrill, it’s easy to go at their own pace.
Can Kids Ride the Alpine Coaster™?
Absolutely! Here’s a quick breakdown:
Kids must be at least 3 years old and 38 inches tall to ride with an adult or sibling (age 16+).
To ride solo, they need to be 54 inches or taller.
There are weight limits (375 lbs in dry weather, 330 lbs in wet weather) if you're riding double.
You can also fill out the waiver ahead of time online to save time at the gate.

But the Fun Doesn’t Stop There
There’s plenty more to explore when your little ones are ready to keep the adventure going:
Climbing Wall: Let them test their skills and cheer on their courage.
Gem Mining (Sluicing): Kids love panning for treasures and keeping the gems they find.
Stuffed Animal Petting Zoo: This cozy spot features adorable stuffies of animals found on the mountain—squirrels, owls, bears, eagles, and even a special lion in honor of Lou, our park’s beloved Bavarian mascot. While there aren’t real animals to pet, this sweet setup invites kids to snuggle, imagine, and learn. (We even have plans in the works for future interactive critter signage!)
Kid-Friendly Snacks & Drinks: After all that climbing, riding, and cuddling, it’s time for a treat. We’ve got snacks made with tiny taste buds in mind!

Don’t Miss the Ride Photos!
Parents can hang back and cheer from the courtyard or Ludwig’s Loft, a perfect perch to catch the action and snap a few shots of those proud post-ride faces. Or grab a keepsake from the Twister Action Photos station to take home a memory.
Leavenworth Adventure Park is designed with families in mind, from gentle thrills to cozy corners. So if you’re visiting with kids this summer, know that there’s more than enough fun (and fluff) to go around.
